Santa Monica Styled Session: Emma + Braden

When we decided to do a styled bridal session at the Viceroy Santa Monica, we knew Emma and Braden were the couple to feature. Not only are they amazing in front of the camera, they are also real life love birds! Tricia and I had a blast styling and photographing this dreamy inspired photo session.

We wanted to create a whimsical atmosphere featuring the art deco design of the Viceroy and the amazing floral talent of Briana Maxson Floral Design. We styled the session around the vintage color scheme of turquoise, yellow and cream. The colors perfectly complimented Emma’s modern cocktail dresses by designers such as Vera Wang and Mason!

Valley Center Engagement Session: Brittani + Max

Brittani and Max met while they were both serving in the Military in San Diego, CA. They are also actually already married, but are having their wedding celebration this August. They brought their bundles of joy along for their engagement session at Keys Creek Lavender Farm; their adorable baby Avery, and Max’s baby, his 1960 Shelby. Max’s father gave him the fire engine red classic for his sixteenth birthday. We’re pretty sure we only got a new dress and a cake!

We styled the shoot to be reminiscent of a 1960′s drive-in film. Brittani wore a silk printed top and mustard yellow skinnies from Anthropologie and red sunnies from Target. Avery was quite the fashionista in her strawberry dress and hat to match! We had such an amazing time with the beautiful family and the owner of Keys Creek Lavender Farm, Alicia, even joined us for the ride!

We know that Max and Brittani’s wedding at Balboa Park this summer will be incredible!

Santa Monica Event Styling & Photography: Grillo Baby Shower

There’s no doubt in our minds that the Grillo babies will come into this world knowing they are loved unconditionally by their incredible parents, David and Stephanie. The two are just perfect for each other and their excitement for their bundles of joy were infectious! We were so honored to be able to style and capture their baby shower at the Viceroy Santa Monica last month. David’s loving sister Lynda was the host of the brunch where guests were serenaded by a live trio while they sipped mimosas upon arrival. Since both men and women would be attending the shower, we wanted to create a fun and unique atmosphere for all of Stephanie and David’s friends and family.

We couldn’t have made the shower as beautiful as it was without the creativity and talent of Briana Maxson Floral Design and her handy hubby, Tommy. Briana did an incredible job with the centerpieces and arrangements, which served as the focal points of the event. Since we knew the babies would be boy and girl twins, we decided to put our twist on the classic baby blue and light pink colors by adding in shades of green, coral and cream to keep it looking modern. We decorated the Viceroy’s famous Bristol Room with baby outfits hung on a twine clothing line above a large rocking chair and double stroller that were gifts from close family and friends.

Our Stylish Details graphic designer, Mark, created all of the custom place cards and trivia cards that complimented the color schemes on the tables. The tables were all named after famous twins such as “Mary-Kate and Ashley” and “The Doublemint Gum Twins”!

Stephanie is a talented artist who has created a series called “The Yes Trees”. To celebrate the series, two of the guests handmade this beautiful tree adored with yellow daisies and small papers with the word “Yes” written in various fonts. When guests arrived, they wrote words of encouragement for the couple and hung them on the tree. What an amazing piece of art work this will be in the babies’ nursery!

San Diego Wedding Photography: Brian + Mel

Brian and Melanie may quite possibly be one of the most loving and wonderful families we have ever met.  Tricia went to high school with Brian’s sister, Lori, and has felt like part of the family ever since. Needless to say we were so excited when Mel and Brian asked us to style and capture their big day! We had a blast spending the day on Coronado Island on a sunny day in August of last year. Melanie did an awesome job of planning the look of the wedding and made a stunning bride as well!

One of our favorite parts of any wedding is when we get to be apart of the couple’s first look. It’s that very intimate moment when the groom sees his bride in her gown for the first time and it’s as if they are the only two people in the world! After the first look, the whole bridal party hopped on an Old Town Tolley, for photos at the picturesque Hotel Del Cononado. Our ride ended at the at the Coronado Community Center where the ceremony and reception would take place. Mel and Brian said their vows in front of the breathtaking harbor and then dancing the night away with over 150 guests.  This gorgeous couple made our job effortless and wish them all the best!
